Tal Sullivan: Lead Pastor

Tal  was well on his way to becoming a Physical Therapist when God began to redirect him and Gwen to what is now a wholehearted calling to pastoral ministry.  In 1995, a few years after being married, Tal and Gwen helped start a new church on Detroit's eastside, a life-changing experience that God used to call them into pastoral ministry.  In September 2001, the Sullivans came to Church of the King's very first service to support Pastor Brad Leach, the church's founding pastor, and were soon invited to be a part of the ministry team.  After serving for almost eight years as the Family Life Pastor, God led Tal to the responsibility of Lead Pastor when Brad resigned in order to follow God's leading to plant a church in Philadelphia.  Tal and Gwen have three children and are passionate about helping people be healthy and thriving in their walk with the Lord and their relationships with others.  They believe there is no one whose life cannot be incredibly changed by the love and power of God.

Jonathan Vitale: Associate Pastor

Jonathan sensed a calling to pastoral ministry when he was 14.  A year after finishing his B.A. at Central Bible College, he married his college sweetheart, Allison.  They served as youth pastors for the next five years in Chicago.  Jonathan then went on to earn his M.A. in Old Testament Theology at Assembly of God Theological Seminary.  From AGTS, the Vitale’s moved to Jonathan's hometown, Metro Detroit, anxious to see what God had next for them.  Soon thereafter, the Vitale’s made Church of the King their home and served in both the Youth and LifeGroup ministries.  Jonathan is passionate about teaching, discipleship, worship, theology, learning, the outdoors, the city of Detroit, and most importantly--Jesus, Allison, and their three beautiful children!

Giacomas

Keith Giacoma: Children's Pastor

Keith met Julia in 1996 at a missions training seminar and from there started building a lasting relationship.  Keith and Julia have worked in children’s ministry since coming to COTK in 2002. Both have professional experience working with children; Keith worked in pediatrics for 5 years, assisting children in coping with illness and hospitalization.  Julia currently teaches math and ESL at a local high school.  Keith felt called to the ministry in 2007 and began pursuing his ministerial credentials. His desire for the children is for them to see the glory of the LORD shown in his Son Jesus Christ, and to pursue Him passionately. Keith loves teaching, hiking, sharing a good cup of coffee, and spending time with Julia and their two daughters.
